The George Washington Bloom Project

Today was pretty much a lousy day on all fronts, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to post some shots I took of the orchids last week in the setting sun.

I haven’t figured out how to keep the bridge and the flowers in focus, but I’m not sure I really want to.

(This is a metaphor for one of life’s hard realities; namely, that you often have to choose one thing at the expense of another.)

Thankfully, both choices offer different possibilities of beauty, assuming we can let go of any regret that comes from knowing we can no longer have what once seemed so easy to attain.
