The George Washington Sunset Project (Thoughts on Cookies)

I left work a little early and arrived uptown in time to see the last remnants of daylight.

It felt good to be home for a change; this month I’ve gone to an almost infinite number of holiday parties (which is not to say I’m ‘Mr. Popular’ or anything), but which in addition to seeing friends (and maybe a few ‘frenemies’ if truth be told) has been an excellent way not to worry unnecessarily about various other things that I probably don’t need to go into much detail here, given that I’ve been discussing them a lot as is. Plus I’ve encountered some seriously excellent chocolate-chip cookies, which it occurs to me might be one of the best indicia of a successful month. I will look back on this month and think: ‘I enjoyed many fine chocolate chip cookies: hence it was a good month, better than most.’

Although it’s cold today and the wind is once again blowing hard, the (blood) red sky seems to represent the (hopeful) idea that if we can just keep moving, everything will be okay (or even better than okay, if enough high-level cookies are involved).
