Mannahatta, Mon Amour (The Awl): Bonus Pix of the Ruins

Today THE AWL published a story I wrote about the end of the world for a series they’re running on the end of the year.

Although the story is set in Manhattan, it was inspired by some ruins I discovered in Yonkers a few years ago and recently had the opportunity to revisit.

I don’t know for sure, but I’m guessing that these mansions were part of the old estates that used to line Broadway and stretch down to the Hudson.

Some day if I have time, I’d like to go back and shoot a movie here.

It was a bit scary in here to be honest, but there’s also something soothing about ruins.

It makes me wonder what will be around in 100 years (probably nothing that’s being built today lol).

Of course only the sun will know.
