Elektra: So, did you learn anything today?
Me: Yes, I learned that if you spend enough time running, you inevitably discover that what was once very easy — say, to pound out a bunch of six-minute miles — becomes increasingly difficult. It’s kind of depressing, in a way, because it really drives home the fact that you’re no longer young, although it’s not a reason to stop running…Did you learn anything today?

Elektra: I learned that staring out the window in silent contemplation is more relaxing than talking about getting old with people.
