Death Culture at Sea (Maybe It’s Time To Rise Above)

Thanks to spending the past four weeks in my room (via a twisted ankle*), I’ve had more time than usual to write songs, which I’ve found is a very relaxing and non-destructive way to spend time, especially with my new Orchid/Telepathic keyboard/synthesizer, which features prominently in both songs below.

*Thank you to my friend Susan, who recommended Solomon’s Seal Oil (Polygonatum biflorum) from Red Moon Herbs. I think it’s helping!

Death Culture at Sea // ‘Maybe It’s Time To Rise Above’

Days go by, the leaves are turning

All my life, looking out the window

Maybe it’s time to rise above

Oh, the night is longer than a shadow

Feel the light, coming through the shade

(Maybe it’s finally time)

Maybe it’s time to rise above

Leave my side, my heart is empty

Turn the tide, and wander through the streets

Death Culture at Sea // ‘The Last Hurrah’

Late night and the candle is out, each thought is a specter

Strange light, an angel is waiting

Say goodnight to the rest of the show

Men rise and the histories appear

They kill and it’s nothing

Say goodbye, it may be forever

The last hurrah and into the snow
